Owning a Tiffin Class A motorcoach is about more than travel—it’s about experiencing life on your terms, with comfort, elegance, and freedom. But where you take your Tiffin matters just as much as what you drive. The good news? A select group of RV resorts across America caters exclusively to luxury Class A motorhomes like yours. These resorts offer more than just a place to park—they deliver a full lifestyle, where the joy of outdoor living blends seamlessly with the comfort of the indoors. Think open-air kitchens, sliding glass casitas, and pergolas designed for dining under the stars. Here’s what to consider when picking your next destination:
Many luxury RV resorts have restrictions on what type and age of recreational vehicle can stay at the resort. Most of the top resorts are restricted to type “A” motorhomes. Some have restrictions on the age of the motorhome while others make exceptions due to the condition of the motorhome.
You will usually find lots that can accommodate 45 foot long motorcoaches with room to spare. Often there is room for your tow car and a toy or two as well. Some are large enough for casitas, porches and hot tubs.
Look for a very large RV pad, usually covered by cement or paver stone. Enough room for the largest class “A”, a tow car and plenty to spare. Often the pad will extend to a casita or pergola dwelling that may or may not be equipped for outdoor entertainment. You may find an outdoor bar, kitchen and theater equipment like TVs and speakers. Still not enough? Keep your eyes open for swimming pools, full casitas with master kitchens, showers, living rooms and bathrooms, all with walls that can roll-up or slide-open to bring the outside in. That’s right, often two to three complete walls that can open to the outside world.
Most likely you are going to start at the front gate. Seems simple right? Most luxury RV resorts are gated with around the clock security. We did mention exclusive, right? You wont travel far into the resort before you notice how the grounds are kept Usually everything is manicured with an abundance of landscaping including flowers, well placed shrubs and trees with occasional water features like waterfalls and fountains. Now take a look at the basics. You should find a quality exercise room with up-to-date equipment, pools and hot tubs in abundance and at least one clubhouse. From here the possibilities open up. Look for pickleball and tennis courts, pet areas and water features like ponds, lakes or bigger. With the water you may have docks, fishing or boating, walkways and bridges that wind through the park. Some resorts are build around a nine or eighteen hole golf course. Some are nested against natural areas.
A great resort can keep you occupied all day long. But it is wise to consider the distance to other great attractions. Is there local shopping? Are there chef quality restaurants nearby? How about casinos or exciting night life? How far to golf, amusement parks, museums or concert halls? Hopefully the resort is central to activities that spark your interest.
Golf. Boating. Poker night. Quilting. Pickleball. Tennis. Swimming. Entertaining friends. Dance classes or yoga. Some resorts are very active with a long list of possibilities while others are more quiet and private. Take a look at their activity options and find a fit that’s right for you.
Do NOT sell this one short. Every resort has a personality and you want to make sure it fits you! Is the resort sleepy and quiet? Is it active and social? Maybe exclusive and refined? We suggest that you ask someone who has been there, check the resort’s social media for clues and if you can, rent first!
Every resort has it’s peak season where the weather is at it’s best. How does it fit with your calendar? Does the best season at home compete with the best months at the resort, or does it allow you to escape dreary weather in favor of warm sunshine and glorious blue skies? Or perhaps you are considering full-timing and you need to consider how two or three resorts across the US and/or Canada fit together on the calendar so you can chase proverbial sun.
Bring on the parties. Most luxury resorts host a series of events through their peak season. Live music, food, dancing, car shows and golf competitions. Events can range from free to pay to play, but they are usually a lot of fun. Take a look at their calendar of events and see if anything gets your toes tapping.
Luxury resort or not, they can’t control the climate. But, you might have a preference, so it’s good to do your due diligence. Is the location dry or humid. Are you sensitive to allergens? Is the weather generally stable or is it prone to sudden changes? A little homework may save you from itchy eyes and a runny nose.
Choosing the right luxury RV resort is about more than lot sizes or amenities—it’s about finding a place that elevates your lifestyle and makes every moment on the road more rewarding. As a Tiffin owner, you’ve already embraced comfort, quality, and adventure. The right resort extends that experience, combining upscale living with a sense of community, natural beauty, and effortless outdoor enjoyment. When you choose a destination that aligns with your passions and pace, your RV journey becomes more than travel—it becomes a lifestyle you’ll look forward to living every season.
