At Tiffin Motorhomes, we’ve always believed that open, honest communication matters. With recent changes across our company, including consolidation efforts, leadership transitions, and shifts within our parent company, THOR Industries, we understand why questions and speculation have surfaced. We’ve seen rumors circulating on social media and have heard concerns directly from some of our owners. Rather than let uncertainty fill the gaps, we’re addressing these topics head on. Below, you’ll find the most common questions and claims we’ve encountered, along with clear, straightforward answers from our team.
Was Leigh Tiffin fired from Tiffin by THOR Industries?
No, Leigh addressed this directly on a video with National Indoor RV Center where he explained that he had approached the owner of NIRVC in June of 2024 to throw his hat in the ring for their potential President role and the opportunity to help take that Dealer public. It was a personal decision of his to pursue that opportunity and had nothing to do with the recent THOR Industries strategic alignment. Once again, in an interview with RV News on February 25th, Leigh Tiffin said his decision to change careers was not related to Tiffin’s business. He said it was not related to THOR Industries’ ownership. He said he did not have a contract with THOR Industries that had expired.
Is Tiffin closing its doors or shutting down?
No, Tiffin is a significant and important part of THOR Industries and will continue to be. Bob Martin, THOR President and CEO stated, “Tiffin Motorhomes continues to operate with strong order momentum and dealer support, and we do not anticipate any disruption to customers or production.”
Tiffin Motorhomes, headquartered in Red Bay, Alabama, has a deeply engrained and long-standing commitment to craftsmanship, customer service, and innovation that has defined the Tiffin brand for decades. THOR emphasized that the Tiffin family will remain actively engaged in the business, ensuring continuity of the culture, values, and product philosophy that customers associate with the brand. Those characteristics will continue to define the Tiffin brand from Red Bay going forward.
Will Tiffin now be owned entirely by Jayco?
No, THOR Industries is the sole owner of operating companies, of which Tiffin has been since 2020. These companies, combined, represent the world’s largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles. Ken Walters, current President & CEO of the Jayco Family of Companies, has been named the CEO of one of two THOR Northern American RV Operating Groups. Tiffin, along with Jayco, Entegra Coach, Open Range RV and Heartland RV will continue to operate as stand-alone brands under that THOR Operating Group. As shared by Bob Martin, President & CEO of THOR Industries “we are building for the next decade and beyond, ensuring our brands remain individually strong while leveraging the scale of our organization. We are also ensuring that our operations are agile and efficient, and THOR continues to lead the global RV industry.
Will Entegra Coach be closing its doors now that Tiffin is building those Class A diesels?
No, Entegra Coach is one of the largest manufacturers of motorized RVs in North America and a leader in many segments. Class A diesel units were a small portion of the company’s volume, and with the strategic move to shift Class A diesel manufacturing to Tiffin, Entegra Coach still maintains its leading position in the market.
With this shift of production, we have introduced an entirely new brand, Cornerstone. These coaches will not be considered Tiffin models. They will not even fall under the Tiffin Brand. Cornerstone will have it’s own branding, it’s own website, it’s own identity.
Will the Tiffin family still be involved with Tiffin Motorhomes?
Yes, the Tiffin family will continue to be involved with Tiffin. THOR emphasized that the Tiffin family will remain actively engaged in the business, ensuring continuity of the culture, values, and product philosophy that customers associate with the brand. Bob Tiffin, founder of Tiffin Motorhomes, will remain actively involved with the company, continuing his long-standing role and providing guidance to leadership and the organization. Additionally, Van Tiffin will continue in his role as Senior Advisor of Manufacturing, where he plays a critical role in ensuring the high-quality craftsmanship by which Tiffin is known, and Trent Tiffin remains highly focused on our Class B and C classes as a Program Manager.
