The annual Florida RV SuperShow typically draws together one of the largest selections of RVs and their manufacturers in the U.S. It can be the perfect opportunity for current motorhome owners, those thinking about joining the RV life, and even just general auto enthusiasts to check out the latest in RV innovation, compare brands and models, and see these impressive “homes on wheels” in person.
But this year was different, and we don’t need to tell you why. We know you may not have attended the Tampa show this time. If not, we’ve got you covered. Below, we summarize the seven latest Tiffin updates that we debuted at the show so you don’t miss anything.
Our first new feature relates to RV décor. We unveiled our all-new Shadow cabinet at Tampa. This new color is a grey-brown beauty. It’s not as grey as the Sterling option available on some of our coaches, and it’s not as dark brown as our Glazed Canyon Cherry or Mocha selections. Shadow is a happy medium for those who want a sophisticated interior that’s not too dark.
The Shadow cabinet is now available in our 2021 Phaeton, Allegro Bus, and Zephyr models. If you want to see how it looks on one of those coaches, just go to the Build Your Own tool on our website. There, you can choose the model you’re interested in, select your favorite paint scheme and floor plan, and then compare finishes, including cabinet color.
Generation 10 Paint Schemes on the Phaeton
A not-so-subtle color choice is the paint scheme you select for your Tiffin’s exterior. Our 2021 Phaeton has offered a robust lineup of seven Generation 9 paint schemes. These include the rich red Fire Opal and the cool Frosted Granite, to name a couple. Each option in the Gen 9 lineup is marked by its signature curved “swooshes.”
Now, in our new Generation 10 paint schemes — which debuted in Tampa — you can get your favorite exterior color combo in a more angular, straight-lined look. Say you love the monochromatic feel of the Gen 9 Nasa paint scheme, but you don’t want all those curves on the side of your rig. Now, in the Gen 10 Nasa paint scheme, you can have those same black, white, and grey paints in a less whimsical way. By giving you the classic color schemes you want in two different designs — curved and straight — we double your options for how your Phaeton looks as it rolls down the road.
Here’s our Gen 10 lineup. Be sure to visit the Phaeton webpage to get a closer, 360° look at each one and to compare them with their Gen 9 counterparts.
Moving beyond appearances, we also introduced a few new practical innovations at the show. While some are more noticeable than others, each of these features will make life on the road even more enjoyable and comfortable for you and your camping companions.
Heated Tile Floor Option on the Allegro RED
Since it’s winter, we’ll start with a solution to help you stay warm in your Tiffin. We now offer Gold Heat® Heated Tile Floor as an optional feature on all 2021 Allegro RED floor plans. You may already be familiar with this heated floor option available on our Phaeton, Allegro Bus, and Zephyr models. By now offering it on our RED, we give you one more model to choose from if heated floors are a must-have amenity for your cold-weather RV adventures. Whether you embrace the cooler temps or you’re a snowbird headed South to escape them, we can all agree that a bit of added heat can really transform the trip!
Outdoor Grill Options on the Allegro Bus
What could make camping in your Allegro Bus even more fun and convenient? A built-in grill! Yep, you heard us. Our engineers have really outdone themselves on this one. Now, if you choose the 40 AP, 40 IP, or 45 OPP floor plan for your Bus, you have the option to add an outdoor grill right into your motorhome.
There are two grill options: The 40 AP and 40 IP offer the classic Outdoor Grill. The 45 OPP offers the Outdoor Grill Center, which is the classic outdoor grill made by Kenyon plus a sink and an induction cooktop. The diagram below will help you visualize the difference. Of course, if you don’t want a grill at all, you don’t have to have one. But before making that call, we urge you to check it out. It’s seriously cool . . . or, rather, it’s seriously hot!
Just imagine all those al fresco barbecues and dinner parties you can now throw even more easily with your integrated grill! We can’t wait to see all your photos of how you’ll use this latest innovation this year. Don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram!
Freightliner Custom Chassis Available on the Phaeton 40 IH
One of our most popular coaches and floor plans, the Phaeton 40 IH, is now on the all-new XCR Super Raised Rail from Freightliner Custom Chassis. Why is that important? Glad you asked! Two notable benefits of this raised-rail chassis are the oversized basement storage with even easier cargo access and a flatter coach floor from end to end. Simply put, you’ll be able to store more in the basement of your coach and you’ll have more even flooring on your coach, which helps keep items inside from moving around or leaning.
If we had you hooked at “more storage and flatter floors,” one of our dealers would love to tell you more and connect you with your own 40 IH. Find a Tiffin dealer near you today.
Volta Power System Option on the Zephyr
One of our innovations that was most celebrated at the Florida RV SuperShow is the auxiliary power system from Volta that’s now available as an option on our Zephyr. In fact, our Zephyr is the first ever production Class A RV to offer this system from Volta. That’s just one more reason why the Zephyr is as exclusive an RV as they come!
This Volta power system packs 36,000 watt-hours (equivalent to a 12-volt battery bank at 3,000 amp hours) of usable energy accompanied by two 5,000W inverters and uses the most lightweight, energy-dense lithium-ion on the market. It’s the latest li-ion technology, and it’s something you’ll definitely want to check out if you’re considering a Zephyr. We were glad to have a representative from Volta at our booth to demonstrate to fans exactly how the Volta works on the Zephyr!
Lithium Battery Option for the Allegro Bus and Zephyr
Another practical solution for our Zephyr as well as our Bus is the option of Dragonfly Energy LiFePO4 lithium batteries. This lithium battery option has a 12-volt lithium battery bank at 810 amp hours, for 810 usable amp hours. What does this mean in layman’s terms? You get almost twice the energy capacity of the extended-life option, given the same amount of space and at half the weight. Also, each battery is capable of at least 5,000 charge cycles, lasting much longer than any lead-acid battery would. No complaints here!
